Welcome to the first edition of Sky Neon Journal
As I approach my 30th year in the sign business, I feel the need to establish some dialogue around what sign contracting and sign design is and what it is not. Hopefully, this will become a bi-monthly journal addressing questions, insights, and interesting stories about the neon revival. However, I\'m not yet ready to retire and publish my memoirs. Â I can only write when I\'m not slammed with work.
What this blog is not about: Window\'s 10 Project NEON. Although I was once a programmer, that was a long time ago. All I know about this Window\'s project is that it has something to do with the user interface. As I can\'t even figure out how to find my files in Window\'s 10, I can\'t comment on that.  Anyway, Windows has plenty of press as it is!
Nor is this blog about music and musicians who have appropriated the word to sparkle up album titles. For example, \"Neon Delhi\" by the New Delhi Alternative Rock Band, Menwhopause: I know nothing about that. Or the controversy around \"Neon Cathedral\" by pop band Mackelmore and Ryan Lewis:  I hear they\'re being sued by NOLA jazz artist Paul Batiste for copyright infringement. Haven\'t really given either a good listen, I\'m afraid, so I cannot comment on that one either. But stealing other songs or designs is a practice I highly discourage.
Read the new Sky Neon Journal - a blog for news about neon, electric signs, architectural lighting. Get ideas. Ask installation and design questions.
